New Ipod Shuffle from Ipod! See Video demo!

If you are in the market for a reasonbly priced, compact versatile music player, then keep reading! Apple has added a new member to its family of music players. Touted as smaller than a double A battery the new Ipod Shuffle is the smallest yet. With two gigs of storage it holds up to a thousand of your favorite tunes, and with new voice technology it breaks these into playlists for more of the convenience you experience with a full-featured player!
At $79 Apple's new Ipod Shuffle is not the cheapest on the market and many have questioned the design which places the sparse controls on the earbud cord making 3rd party headsets a no-no. The earbud dilemma is reportedly not a factor with a seperate accessory dongle that will act as an extension to the 3.5mm headhpone jack making third party headphones, speakers and other connections compatible with latest Apple Ipod Shuffle.
So, if you are an Apple fan and have been looking for your latest toy, this may be it! The smallest, lightest and now more versatile new Apple Ipod Shuffle! The Voice technology allows the names and artists of tracks to be programmed and read back in fourteen languages, allowing easier access to specific music tracks. That coupled with the novelty of owning the smallest Ipod yet may be enough to overcome the controls being placed on the earbud cord of the new Shuffle from Apple.

Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras? Whatever? Let's party!

Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras? Whatever! Let's Party!
Mardi Gras! What and when is it? If you've ever wondered this and more keep reading. The origins of this unique Holliday will be revealed along with links to large national Mardi Gras events and Mardi Gras supplies for you to throw your own Mardi Party!

Fat Tuesday! Yes, finally a Holliday you can sink your teeth into! But seriously folks!
Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler (French for Let the good times roll!)
First, while celebrating every Tuesday between the week in February and the first week in March just to be safe might be a whole lotta fun, to really celebrate Mardi Gras you'll need to make a simple calculation. If your Catholic you know that Mardi Gras falls on the Tuesday before Lent, Ash Wednesday. For all of us Protestants not steeped in Gregorian calendar lore that would be forty days before Easter.
While many know The Big Easy, New Orleans LA for its raucous Mardi Gras which has been the background for many famous movies through the years, it all started in Mobile Alabama in 1703 and continues to this day. Mobile boasts a "g" rated family friendly celebration with all the fixin's and is sure to be a fun time. While you are there check out the Carnival Mueum !
Mardi gras, or Fat Tuesday has come to represent the entire Carnival Season and all of the celebrations leading up to the sobriety and self sacrifice of the Lenten season. Lent is a season set aside by Catholice during which they give up personal comforts, which can range from candy to more personal spiritual matters, to remind them of Christ's sacrifice and resurrection on Easter.
Want to hold your own Mardi Gras to celebrate Fat Tuesday? Here's a few places you can get Mardi Gras / Fat Tuesday supplies. the traditional colors are gold and purple and don't forget the beads, lots o' beads, which you can trade for....guess that depends on whether you go to Mobile or New Orleans! Happy Marid Gras, or Fat Tuesday whatever "floats" your Mardi Gras parade!

President's Day, Holliday or retail trap?

Have you ever wondered what President's day is really all about? Well So did we, so here is little info on the big President's Day conundrum!

Titled Washington's Birthday, the federal holiday was originally implemented by the Congress of the United States of America in 1880 for government offices in the District of Columbia (20 Stat. 277) and expanded in 1885 to include all federal offices (23 Stat. 516). As the first federal holiday to honor an American citizen, the holiday was celebrated on Washington's actual birthday, February 22. On January 1, 1971 the federal holiday was shifted to the third Monday in February by the Uniform Monday Holiday Act. A draft of the Uniform Holidays Bill of 1968 would have renamed the holiday to Presidents' Day to honor both Washington and Lincoln, but this proposal failed in committee and the bill as voted on and signed into law on June 28, 1968 kept the name Washington's Birthday.
By the mid-1980s, with a push from advertisers, the term "Presidents' Day" began its public appearance.[1] The theme has expanded the focus of the holiday to honor another President born in February, Abraham Lincoln, and often other Presidents of the United States. Although Lincoln's birthday, February 12, was never a federal holiday, approximately a dozen state governments have officially renamed their Washington's Birthday observances as "Presidents Day", "Washington and Lincoln Day", or other such designations. However, "Presidents Day" is not always an all-inclusive term. In Massachusetts, while the state officially celebrates "Washington's Birthday," state law also prescribes that the governor issue an annual Presidents Day proclamation honoring the presidents that have come from Massachusetts: John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Calvin Coolidge, and John F. Kennedy.[2] (Coolidge, the only one born outside of Massachusetts, spent his entire political career before the vice presidency there. George H. W. Bush, on the other hand, was born in Massachusetts, but has spent most of his life elsewhere.) Alabama uniquely observes the day as "Washington and Jefferson Day", even though Jefferson's birthday was in April.[3] In New Jersey, Connecticut and Illinois, while Washington's Birthday is a federal holiday, Abraham Lincoln's birthday is still a state holiday, falling on February 12 regardless of the day of the week. In California, Lincoln's Birthday is also a legal state holiday, however, observance is frequently moved to the Monday or Friday occurring closest to February 12. When Lincoln's Birthday is observed on the Friday preceding Washington's Birthday, the resultant four-day weekend is commonly called "Presidents' Day Weekend", particularly by retailers in their sale advertisements.
In Washington's home state of Virginia the holiday is legally known as "George Washington Day."

And here are a couple of links for fun President's Day stuff, all free!
